Apprenticeships
A New Mission Systems International apprenticeship is an extended internship designed to teach individuals what it is to live as a missionary. Apprenticeships are no longer than one year in length and are typically set up on an individual basis through the Short-term Ministries Department. Each apprenticeship is unique to the individual participant or team and is set up to enhance the long-term ministry of the missionary or missionaries being served.
All apprentices are required to raise their own support just like all of NMSI's missionaries. Upon acceptance to the program, an apprentice will be sent a support-raising handbook and sample response cards to help raise the necessary costs that come with an apprenticeship.
Like all NMSI projects, each apprenticeship will begin with a pre-field orientation to better
help participants adjust to their new host culture. Each apprenticeship will end with a post-field debriefing time in which each participant will evaluate what they have learned and how their experience can continue to grow them after their project.
Apprenticeships are a great way to earn college credit when your school requires a time commitment of more than two months.
