Accepting Christ and Update in Haiti—January 21

University student accepts Christ
Selissa, a young university student from Pignon, was in Port-au-Prince studying at the time of the earthquake. He had to jump from three story building to save his life. All his friends perished in the building. Upon returning home to Pignon, Selissa gave his life to Christ. Pray for Selissa, for his new life in Christ. Selissa also has dislocated shoulders, wrist and other minor injuries.

Update from Pignon, Haiti
January 21

The situation is getting better in Port-Au-Prince with more people getting food and water. Shelter is still a big problem, with many people in the streets. The government is trying to relocate the homeless in large camps outside of the city.
In Pignon, we continue with relief efforts for people returning back home. Many homes in Pignon are filled with refugees and our church has stepped up efforts to minister to them. We have given food to a house where 14 people are now living. It's usually a house of 5. The family is thankful for the extra food we provided. We will give some more this weekend. There are many homes like this with 5, 7 more people staying there.

We are joining hands with other organizations to bring medicines to the local hospital to treat the wounded who are coming every day. The money people are sending and prayers given to our nation are making a great difference. We will try to help with clothing and shoes for many families who have lost everything. Please send toys and baby items to help young mothers. The young children are very stressed out. Some toys will help them to relax. If we receive more funds next week, we should be able to buy large quantities of rice and beans and cooking oil, sardines with more food shipment coming into port of Cap, in north Haiti. Buying these products locally will help the struggling economy.

Thank you again for your continued prayers and donations in providing relief to our brothers and sisters during the challenging time.
