Tears from Moscow
Thursday, April 22, 2010 - rflory
God encouraged me and blessed my greatly this Easter Sunday
as I saw Him move in the lives of people I love. Stefyana* had told me before
church that her schedule allowed her to come this week. Not only did Stefyana
decide to come to church without my initiating invitation, but she also brought
her mom. Stefyana’s mother reacted very positively to her first experience in a
Protestant church and said that she would like to come back. Stefyana had
recently given her mother a copy of the gospels, and her mother has already
read half of it. Praise God! Please continue to pray for Stefyana and her
mother. It is very unlikely that Stefyana’s mom will come to church without her.
Stefyana is a dancer, and her class usually meets on Sundays during church
time.
Also for Easter my roommate and I invited our next-door
neighbor to church. Helga* is a lonely but very sociable woman in her mid-
50’s. Our invitation thrilled her, and she eagerly came with us. Helga didn’t
know what to expect since this was her first Protestant worship service. The
music and message of the songs touched her deeply; Helga cried throughout much
of the service. We pray that Helga will join us often in the future as well.
