Myanmar-Thailand Team: Bri, Angela, Manna and Madison
Team Leader: Angela Nelson

Leading devotionals and participating in English acquisition groups, building relationships with nationals and
 learning more about the local ministries.  Thailand will involve staying at a youth boarding hostel,
tutoring the children that live there, as well as attending/leading chapel with them.
Both ministries will focus largely on encouragement.

June 19—Leave for Thailand soon!
It's hard to believe today is 1 week from when we leave for Thailand! We are feeling so at home with the people and the lifestyle that it will be hard to go, but we're excited to see what Christ has for us in Chaing Mai. It is amazing to reflect on all that has happened here and realize it has only been 3 weeks... More

June 9—Amazing Grace

Hey everybody at home!

We are doing very well. It seems everyone has adjusted to the time change and is getting a full night of rest. We are becoming much more confident in our ability to find our way around the city as well.

Last Saturday we got to teach English at a local language school. We spent three hours with the advanced students and found it so refreshing to speak English to some more people our age. It was nice to learn about what it is like to be a young adult on this side of the world. We taught them some games, sang songs with them, and held an issue discussion on topics like "dating" and "human trafficking." One of the traditional American songs we sang was Amazing Grace, and then we had them interpret some of the words of the song. We got to explain what they meant in the context of the song. We also talked about holidays—we shared about traditions and the meaning behind Christmas, and they told us about some of their holidays.

Family, friends, and supporters,

We have arrived in Myanmar and are having a wonderful time! It is out fourth full day here, and we are slowly getting adapted to the time change. The past few nights each of us have woken up around 3:30 in the morning, and we realized that this is sometime around 2:00 in the afternoon at home!
